OE Electrics wins two awards for innovation and manufacturer of the year

Yorkshire based manufacturer OE Electrics recently won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade and Insider award for Yorkshire Manufacturer of the year. 

OE Electrics are experts in designing and manufacturing power, data distribution and charging solutions. They believe that innovation is essential to the success of every new design and solution. Established for 30 years, the company is now one of the leading designers and manufacturers of mains power and USB charging solutions. 

Made in Yorkshire member OE Electrics received the Queen’s Award for their work with furniture manufacturers all over the world, along with having manufacturing facilities in Wakefield, Germany, and Australia. David Masters, Managing director at OE Electrics, said that winning the award is largely owed to the staff, from Manufacturing to Customer Support, Technical and Quotations. The product design department works closely with customers to provide the best solutions. 

As a result of winning the award, Richard and Tim Hobbs owners OE Electrics were invited to Buckingham Palace and the chance to meet one of the royal family. David said: 

“We are very proud that we had the opportunity to go to Buckingham Palace and meet a Royal. After we held the award presentation by the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Ed Anderson in Wakefield followed by a party to celebrate.” 

Fast-growing manufacturer OE Electrics show their competence when it comes to producing products with their second award for manufacturing from Insider UK, Manufacturer of the year (Under 25m). The company won the award for its continuous development of the company and expanding its sales into new markets. 

Along with opening up a new facility in Wakefield, the company has recently opened up new offices in Germany that's spreads over 5,000 sq ft. The new offices will mean the company will be better protected against port delays and whatever Brexit may bring. David said:

“This gives us an opportunity to have a buffer against any import tariffs due to Brexit and we are able to manufacture there.”
